We collaborate closely with expert career counselor, Dr. Tom Denham, to provide tailored support to each of our clients, supporting them in their professional and mental health journey. This integrated approach ensures that our clients not only explore their career options but also address any underlying mental health challenges that might be getting in the way of a promising career path.

Dr. Joe Keifer and Dr. Tom Denham collaborate to offer a unique, integrated approach that addresses both mental health and career-related challenges. We believe that personal well-being and professional satisfaction are deeply interconnected, so we work together to help clients navigate life transitions, manage stress, and achieve career goals. Through this collaborative effort, we provide a seamless blend of psychological support and career counseling, tailored to meet the individual needs of each client. A standard career assessment and career specific counseling can be completed in 5-8 sessions.

Assessment - Who am I?
Combined mental health and career self-assessments designed to help you gain deeper insights into your psychological well-being and professional alignment. These assessments explore various aspects of emotional and psychological health, identify areas for growth and help the client gain insight into their own skills and interests

Career Exploration -Where am I going?
Assessments provide insight into potential career paths, mental health interventions, and professional development. Individualized goals are created collaboratively.

Action Plan - How do I get there?
The action plan will support your career aspirations and provide recommendations to manage your mental health. This plan could include identifying educational or training opportunities, referrals for additional mental health treatment, coping strategies (e.g., mindfulness techniques, stress reduction), new areas of career exploration, and job search strategies.
About Dr. Tom Denham
Career Development Professional and Entrepreneur
Career Counselor, Motivational Speaker, Athlete and Accomplished Mountain Climber.
Dr. Tom is a leading authority and much-sought-after speaker on career development, marketing, entrepreneurship, and work/life balance. His enthusiasm helps him to quickly connect with people and inspire them to take action.
He has over 30 years of experience in career services, including positions at Skidmore and Union Colleges, Harvard, St. Lawrence, and Boston Universities. While he was the Director of the Siena College Career Center, students honored him as the 2000 Administrator of the Year.
He founded Careers In Transition LLC, a private practice in career services that focuses on career counseling for individuals and consulting services for institutional clients in business, education, and government.
Dr. Tom also founded Northeast Public Radio’s award winning talk show, The Career Forum. He has appeared on more than 200 television and radio programs. He has given more than 175 speeches, and published over 200 articles. He has been quoted in Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, About.com, PBS.org, CareerBuilder.com, the Boston Globe, the Los Angeles Times, and the New York Times. He has been a contributing writer for five books.
Dr. Tom has competed in over 100 5k races before turning 50 years old. He has ice climbed over 50 routes including two first ascents. In addition, he has climbed over 200 mountains, including some of America’s most iconic peaks: Mt. Hood, Mt. Rainier, The Grand Teton, Mt. Shasta, Devils Tower, Half Dome, Mt. Baker, and the Adirondack 46. To date, his Charity Climbs have raised over $42,000, benefiting the Alport Syndrome Foundation, which seeks a cure for a rare and sometime fatal kidney disease that impacts his daughter.
